ROLE SUMMARY

The remit of the PHI RWE Team is to generate PHI-relevant real-world evidence (RWE) and insights for increased access (or recommendations) and Value-based Agreements (VBA).
PHI I&I RWE Lead Key Accountabilities:
  • Deliver an I&I-wide PHI RWE Plan by
    • Collaborating with Integrated Asset Leads (Pipeline, Xeljanz, Abrocitinib/Crisaborole, Enbrel/BSM) and x-functional teams to understand asset-level RWE strategies and generation needs
    • Strategizing on internal and external, secondary RW data sources, technologies and/or analytical approaches/ capabilities, across BU-targeted geographies
    • Cataloging all BU RWE projects by in-house, partnership or vendor incl. budgeting/resourcing needs/asks
    • Delivering I&I portfolio of in-house RWE projects to RWD Analyst Team for appropriate resourcing/ prioritization

  • Develop and deliver a global Medical Dermatology RWD investment plan, aligned with Medical Affairs and Commercial. This is critical as the RWD sources today in Medical Dermatology are rare, yet the I&I business will be driven mainly by med derm assets by 2028 (e.g. abrocitinib in Atopic Dermatitis, JAK3-TEC in Alopecia Areata and Vitiligo, etc.)

  • Oversee execution of I&I-wide PHI RWE Plan by
    • Working directly with RWD Analyst Team, Statistics and Programming on timely in-house RWE generation
    • Leading execution of projects via select partnerships, if applicable
    • Providing quarterly monitoring update to PHI I&I BUL of complete I&I-wide RWE Plan

  • Continuously monitor (innovative) data sources globally and identify new data sources and/or technologies for potential investment or partnership opportunities
    • Coordinate with other RWE hubs and center to prioritize investments and roll-out to BUs

  • Lead feasibility testing of VBAs by
    • Backing desired outcomes measures with data, running preliminary analysis of baseline and target, supporting execution, etc.

  • Drive cross-pollination across PHI and ensure RWD and analytics capabilities and data standards of PHI RWE Community remain cutting-edge
    • Ensure alignment with MAC
    • Liaise with RWE center and other hubs

  • Drive RWE thought leadership in external environment in alignment with PHI RWE remit

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, mentor, support, and provide direction to the group of Client Partners;
  • Provide expert consultation on all aspects of internal RWD database studies/analyses including objectives, study design, data source identification, protocol development, statistical analysis, and/or interpretation;
  • Forms strong partnerships with business units, medical affairs, market access, and HEOR teams in understanding RWD analysis needs and priorities, and comes up with plans to execute RWD projects based on those needs;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an enterprise real world data strategy at Pfizer;
  • Establish a I&I-level RWD governance structure;
  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders such as medical affairs team leads to ensure that real world data strategy and plan fully reflect stakeholder requirements;
  • Develop a deep understanding of the evidence needs and ensure delivery of RWD programs that are responsive and strongly supportive of the value evidence strategy;
  • Ability to explain strengths and limitations of RW datasets - such as electronic health records, claims, clinical data registries, patient generated health data, and other health data sources - in context of designing real-world data study designs;
  • Ensure high quality, readily interpretable deliverables (e.g. data tables, graphs, charts, study reports) are generated for internal RWD studies/analyses;
  • Contribute to the continuing education of relevant line functions on the use of RWD;
  • Publication and presentation of RWD projects at internal meetings, and external industry conference/workshops;
  • Develop effective relationships with external thought leaders in RWD/RWE, comparative effectiveness research, health informatics, and data sciences so as to maintain an extensive understanding of external environment, create opportunities for engagement, and to establish Pfizer as a leader in the field.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD, MD, or PharmD and 7+ years of experience in related discipline
  • Extensive track record and experience in observational and real-world data studies;
  • Experience leader with demonstrated ability to build effective teams; leading without authority
  • Able to motivate and channel energy of others toward a clear purpose;
  • Ability to seamlessly interact on both business and scientific issues;
  • Extensive track record interacting with R&D and commercial organizations in pharmaceutical industry;
  • Demonstrated depth of understanding of observational research methods, HTA, comparative effectiveness research, health care and data science trends, and ability to leverage health outcomes and data science expertise to meet evolving business needs;
  • Evidence of technical expertise of applying RWD evidence and insights at the therapy/product level;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external customers and experts;
  • Well-developed business acumen;
  • Demonstrated customer focus;
  • Strong decision-making skills;
  • Excellent matrix, interpersonal and influencing skills;
  • Financial management experience;
  • Experience in leading and managing change, including a track record of flexible, out-of-the-box thinking and responding effectively to rapidly changing requirements;
