You are constantly iterating and improving and never settle for clunky or inefficient, and you're well versed in HR best practices and compliance. This role reports to the President/COO. Interested? Here's a bit more about the role:People & Culture Duties* Build, drive and own People initiatives and programs for a 100+ person organization across both current NY and SF offices (e.g. Recruiting, Performance Reviews, Comp Planning, Career Pathing, Training & Development, Retention, Culture, Diversity, etc.)* Proactively addresses difficult employee related issues and drive to resolution while working with littleBits partners* Understand company goals and align People practices with business objectives* Serve as a strategic advisor and passionate contributor to company leadership for all things people-related* Develop and Implement a best in class diversity and inclusion strategy and drive that vision across the leadership team and entire organization* Solidify, spread and scale our current culture of mission oriented and passionate problem solversOperations Duties* Contribute to the People team's mission by providing support at all phases of the employee lifecycle, including on-boarding, off-boarding, benefits administration, and cultural programming* Support a team of 100 full time hires by working cross-functionally and collaboratively with HR, Recruiting, Facilities, Legal, and Finance* Act as an employee resource for all employee questions related to our services by answering questions and solving problems with empathy and efficiency* Contribute to the maintenance of our HR systems, including HRIS (Bamboo and Paychex), and talent management (Greenhouse); and overall, ensure information is maintained with a 100% accuracy and confidentiality* Manage end-to-end processes: visas and immigration (working with inside and outside counsel), employment law compliance, onboarding and offboarding processes for all hires, payroll for hourly and salary employees and all contractors, benefits expert for all team, leaves and disabilitiesWhat You Bring* 10+ years of successful HR Generalist and HR Business Partner experience with a preference to those with experience in the maker, education, or start-up space* Track record of developing innovative and creative talent and growth strategies and initiatives to scale a growing and vibrant company culture* Deep knowledge of diversity and inclusion issues globally and a strong partnership with talent and recruiting strategies that speak to and attract under represented groups and minorities* Tech savvy, demonstrated proficiency maintaining HR Systems and Operations* A commitment to proactive, continuous, improvement* Demonstrated proficiency managing all employee lifecycle processes* Excellent oral and written communication skills* The proud owner of a BA/BS is preferredTHE PERKS YOU'LL ENJOY:* Being part of an awesome team that keeps playful inventing at the heart of all we do* Sweeping views of the Hudson, a tricked-out office and fully stocked kitchen* All the oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, microscopes, microchips, soldering irons, laser cutters, 3D printers, craft supplies and googly eyes you could ever want* Benefits including medical, dental, vision, commuter checks, FSA and 401(K) with an abbreviated waiting period* Stock options that go along with a high-growth, well-funded startup* Flexible working hours and sick day policy* Generous vacation policy
